Welcome to the first edition of our new 'Best Engineered' Live & Loud newsletter. We will be sending it out fortnightly to update you with the latest Lenovo news on products, promotions and programs. In May, we held our Legends conference in Beijing. Legends is our sales incentive program for the channel. 42 Legends from Australia and New Zealand attended and Tony Blampey from ABit Holdings in Western Australia won the right to go for the million dollar Legends prize. While he didn’t walk away a millionaire, Tony did win $5,000 in prize money. Congratulations Tony!

The feedback I have received from partners about the 2006/07 Legends program has been extremely positive. In fact, the program was unprecedented in the world of PC sales and I am pleased to say the 2007/08 Legends 2.0 program is even better. With $250,000 in rewards, two group trips, quarterly sales promotions and regular web auctions of "money can't buy" merchandise, we have improved the 2008 program based on your feedback. A Legends 2.0 mail pack is being distributed to contracted resellers shortly so if you are not already a member, join before 30 June 2007 and receive 100 Bonus Points! We will continue to develop our relationship with distributor representatives through separate incentive schemes.

Also during May, we were fortunate to have Matthew Kohut, Lenovo’s Chief Competitive Analyst, in town for some of our reseller events. I’d like to thank all those who attended and hope you enjoyed Matt's ''best engineered'' presentation.

And finally, speaking of best engineered PCs, we have just announced two new ThinkPad notebook PCs - the ThinkPad R61 14-inch widescreen notebook (the first ever R-Series widescreen) and the ThinkPad T61 14-inch widescreen notebook.

Both PCs come with Lenovo’s latest innovations including: a new top cover roll cage; an improved thermal management cooling and efficiency system; enhanced wireless connectivity with Ultra Connect II; and longer battery life with Lenovo’s Battery Stretch control option.
